Hahahahaha best laugh I’ve had in ages (the TV ‘celebrity chef’ – yes a jumped up little prick alright [t2107]).  That guy certainly is not too impressed by Donal Skehan is he ? – I’m still slightly hysterical.

Smiling too at the little video of my friend M working on the anti-nano triangle, she did great work in spite of getting overpowered by all the energy coming from the 80 magnets all pushing against each other, plus a little helping of the delicious Elixir d’Anvers.   I could feel quite a throbbing in my head at the time too.

Which gave me the idea of have a pick-me-up after an exhausting hour cutting and hacking at the undergrowth behind some trees.   It’s a disaster area there since my not-so-friendly neighbour decided last year to prune my trees overhanging his garden and threw all the clippings (branches actually) back over the wall.  Dusty eyes from thinning out ivy, sore shoulders from pulling heaps of material out into the open.   Next problem how to get rid of it all – may need to get a skip.   But the drink will brighten me up.

Lovely photos of your recent plants, they look gorgeous. Apart from drinking this neat, it’s also quite good as a longer drink; with tonic.   I hope M brings me back another bottle after her
next trip; a reward for looking after the pygmy hamster ‘Twitchy’.

That’s a very strong drink btw, 37% volume, hence my rashness in deciding to post a photo of a tragedy that happened to what has been a very happy experience making Kombucha for about the last 6 weeks.  I’ve made delicious drinks based on berry tea, and Lemon and Ginger herbal teabags. Apparently one can be much more adventurous but I stuck to the simple option my friend showed me.   Everything fine until maybe the second last ‘run’ of Lemon and Ginger; I was puzzled because it had a sort of oily feeling to it, though it tasted very good.   HOWEVER, when I went to decant and bottle my latest batch yesterday, the whole thing had turned into all I can describe it as a slimy mass ugh.   It would hardly pass through the sieve [exhausted].

Absolutely disgusting.  I still can’t imagine what chemical process caused this result.  I joined a Kombucha group to ask the question why – the only answer I got was ‘ that looks gross –
dump it’ which I did.   I know you all can’t wait to see the photo of it being passed through the sieve.
